For years now, Serbia has been shaken by one scandal after another. Despite that, absolute power is in the hands of one man - Aleksandar Vučić. His party won about 62% of the vote in the recent parliamentary elections. That is why living in Serbia in 2020 means living in a regime that is democratic only on paper. Dissatisfaction spilled over into society, and recent demonstrations are a reflection of that. In addition, the country is currently in a health crisis, caused by COVID-19.
