Mirjana Najcevska is a doctor of legal sciences and a full professor and scientific advisor at the Institute for Sociological and Political-Legal Research at UKIM. Key qualifications are in the areas of human rights (discrimination, rights of minority and marginalized groups, freedom of thought and expression, the rule of law and the rule of law), interethnic relations, decentralization and local self-government. It is dedicated to promoting the concept of human rights and freedoms and the mechanisms for their protection and practice. She has been involved in the work of several NGOs and informal civic associations (former chairman of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights and current chairman of the Center for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution). Internationally, she has been part of the work of several professional and expert bodies within the UN, the EU and the Council of Europe.
